Police Department of Corruption, Economic and Smuggling Crime Investigation's Party Committee holds 2nd Congress

Member of the Standing Board of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam attended and delivered a keynote speech at the congress.

According to the political report of the Department’s Party Committee, during the past tenure, the Police Department of Corruption, Economic and Smuggling Crime Investigation closely followed the guidelines and directives of the Public Security Central Party Committee, while effectively implementing all tasks related to the fight against corruption, economic crimes and smuggling.

In addition, the investigation and handling of cases strictly adhered to legal regulations, while major cases were investigated in line with the directives of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negative Phenomena.

In his remarks, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s leadership, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam acknowledged the effort, determination and achievements of the Department's Party Committee over the past term.

Regarding to the force’s missions in the new revolutionary period, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam urged the Department and the entire Economic Police Force to comprehensively innovate their working methods, shifting from the traditional to modern ones, contributing to improving the efficiency of the fight against corruption, economic wrongdoings and smuggling in the coming time.

He emphasized that the force should improve its ability to forecast the situation, early detect emerging, complex and latent criminal issues related to corruption, wastefulness and other negative cases that can have a serious impact on national socio-economic development.

The Deputy Minister stressed that the Department should effectively implement the Party’s strategic directives on the domain, and endlessly combat corruption, wastefulness and other negative phenomena.

Furthermore, he requested the Department to enhance the quality of Party building, striving to build a truly clean, strong and exemplary Party Committee capable of fulfilling all political tasks in the new context.

As part of the congress agenda, delegates elected the new Executive Committee of the Department’s Party Organization for the 2025–2030 term, selected a delegation to attend the 8th Congress of the Public Security Central Party Committee and adopted the Resolution of the Congress.
