On January 16, 2026, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung sent a letter to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, the Cybersecurity and Hi-Tech Crime Prevention Division and the Security Investigation Division under the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, praising the units for successfully dismantling a transnational criminal group that used computer networks, telecommunications networks and electronic means to illegally appropriate people’s property.
