MPS hosts national scientific conference on glorious heroic tradition of Public Security Forces

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization, the Central Theoretical Council, the Ministry of National Defence and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics co-held a national scientific conference themed “Under the Glorious Party Flag, the People’s Public Security Forces with their Heroic Revolutionary Tradition, joining the Entire Nation in a New Era of Development” on the afternoon of August 4, in Hanoi.

The conference was co-chaired by Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang; Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia; Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang; Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To Assoc. Prof., Dr.; Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh Assoc. Overview of the conference.

In his letter, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that the conference is of great scientific and political significance as it contributes to affirming the stature, the role and the historic mission of the Vietnamese Public Security Forces in the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

In his opening speech, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that, throughout 80 years accompanying the nation, the Public Security Forces have always been absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the People in all circumstances, while showing their steadfast political resolve, vigilance, dedication and readiness to make sacrifices for the Fatherland.

The Minister underscored that the Public Security Forces have taken the interests of the nation and the people as their ideal, and been ready to devote all their strength, their intellect and their lives to the protection of the Party, the State, the socialist regime and the peaceful and happy life of the people.

The Minister highlighted that the 155 in-depth discussion papers submitted by scientists, senior officers from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence, as well as experts from various sectors, have provided scientific foundations on the development of security policies and the building of truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern Public Security Forces, fully capable of accomplishing its duties in the new context.

Delivering the keynote address, Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia urged delegates to further study the historical context of the building and development of the Public Security Forces and profound significance of the leadership of the Party Central Committee, President Ho Chi Minh, and the Public Security Central Party Committee in the building and development of the Public Security Forces, as well as to highlight the achievements, glorious victories and heroic traditions of the Public Security Forces in different historical periods.

At the conference, delegates also discussed the role of the Public Security Forces in safeguarding national security and ensuring social order and safety in the new era of development.

Concluding the conference, Prof., Dr., Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the national scientific symposium was a meaningful activity to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival (August 19, 2005 –2025).

He requested that the Organizing Committee summarize valuable opinions and ideas of scholars and delegates as a basic material to compile and publish documentation as references for research and public communications on the glorious traditions and sacred mission of the Public Security Forces in the new era.
