
HCMC Police Department repairs homes for disadvantaged retired public security officers
MPS - The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department held a groundbreaking ceremony to repair houses for disadvantaged members of the HCMC Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers, on July 14, 2025.

In response to the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ho Chi Minh City,” the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the HCMC Police Department, in collaboration with the HCMC Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers, selected two among disadvantaged retired public security officers in the city to support this time.
The beneficiaries are Ms. Tang Thu Lan (Chanh Hung Ward) and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Do (Binh Hung Commune), two retired public security officers living in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the event, Major General Ta Van Dep emphasized that the two beneficiary officers are the first to receive housing renovation assistance under the initiative, which was launched in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025).
Accordingly, their homes will be renovated thanks to the funding from the Ministry of Public Security, as well as with additional support from the HCMC Police Department.
He called on relevant units to coordinate closely with the local authorities, the two families and the contractors to ensure the quality, safety of the two houses, which are expected to be finished by August 5.
He also requested that the HCMC Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers continue surveying other retired public security force officers living in bad housing conditions to propose further support in the coming period.
