Regarding security and law enforcement cooperation, Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that the two countries had achieved positive results through the ASEAN Chiefs of National Police Conference (ASEANAPOL).

The two sides had effectively exchanged crime-related information; coordinated the prevention, investigation and handling of transnational crime; and provided mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.

To further strengthen comprehensive cooperation and deepen the Viet Nam–Brunei Comprehensive Partnership, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that his Bruneian counterpart continue promoting cooperation and information exchange regarding the regional crime situation, particularly transnational crime, terrorism, drug-related crime, human trafficking and hi-tech crime.

The Minister emphasized that no single country could independently address these types of crime required close coordination among nations, particularly ASEAN member states.
