MPS reviews tasks implementation and evaluates work results at newly-managed vocational training schools

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen chaired a meeting, on the morning of October 1, 2026, in Hanoi, to review the progress and results of task implementation at three vocational education institutions.

Present at the meeting were leaders of relevant functional units under the Ministry of Public Security and representatives of the three vocational education institutions, namely the College of Engineering and Technology, Dung Quat College of Technology, and College of Technology II.

A report on the implementation of tasks at the three vocational schools stated that the Department of Police Management of Custody, Temporary Detention and Criminal Judgment Execution in the Community had officially taken over the vocational schools from the Ministry of Education and Training to the Ministry of Public Security, after more than one month since the Prime Minister’s decision on the transfer.

The Department also directed the three schools to conduct comprehensive reviews and report on every aspects of their work. In coordination with relevant police units and local police departments, the schools reviewed the number of eligible learners who wanted to enroll in vocational training courses. As a result, as many as 6,400 youths wished to attend various vocational training courses. The overall infrastructure and facilities of the three schools were also inspected and carefully evaluated.

At the same time, tasks related to organizational structure, personnel arrangements, and policies for management boards, officials and workers were synchronously implemented. 

The Department also had data transmission lines connected to the three schools, coordinated with relevant police units and local authorities to enhance communications on available vocational training courses and encourage specific target groups to voluntarily register for vocational training at the Ministry of Public Security’s three vocational schools.

Thanks to the early and continuous effort, the three schools now provide vocational education and training to more than 10,000 learners.

At the meeting, leaders of relevant functional units under the Ministry and representatives of the three vocational schools reported on the progress of tasks assigned under the Ministry’s plan concerning the schools. They also put forward recommendations and solutions to accelerate implementation in the coming period.

Delivering concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested the Department of Police Management of Custody, Temporary Detention and Criminal Judgment Execution in the Community, alongside relevant functional units under the Ministry, to review and propose amendments and improvements to the legal framework governing the operation and work of the three vocational schools.

He also requested relevant units to continue coordinating with the three schools to promptly formulate, define and finalize their functions, duties, organizational structures, job-position plans, Party organizations, mass organization models and working regulations; proactively propose their classification as public non-business units; review and recommend additional standards, equipment, facilities, logistical resources; and provide guidance on policies applicable to the three schools.

The Deputy Minister further asked the three vocational schools to urgently review their lists of training disciplines and occupations, curricula, and procedures for issuing diplomas and certificates to trainees upon graduation.

The schools were also requested to proactively coordinate with relevant organizations and businesses in arranging and introducing employment opportunities for graduates; finalize the development plan for the three vocational schools; promote information programs on vocational training courses in specific target groups.
