Department of Surveillance awarded First-class Feat of Arms Order

Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended and delivered a keynote address at the event.

Also present at the event were Member of the CPV Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Cao Huy.

Throughout 65 years of force-building, combat and growth, the Department of Surveillance has consistently adhered to the guidelines and policies of the Party, the state laws, and the direct leadership the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization and the Ministry of Public Security. The Department of Surveillance Force has continually and creatively applied operational measures flexibly to meet all assigned requirements.

The Department has directly executed and coordinated numerous special operational plans, major complex cases, and successfully neutralized hostile anti-state plots and activities, making crucial contributions to protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety.

In recognition of these outstanding accomplishments, the Department of Surveillance alongside numerous subunits and officers have been awarded noble distinctions by the Party, State, Government, and the Ministry of Public Security. Notably, the Department has twice been conferred the title of “Hero of the People's Armed Forces”. On its 65th anniversary, the Department was honorably awarded the First-Class “Feat-of-Arms” Order by the Party and State.

At the ceremony, authorized by the State President, Minister Luong Tam Quang presented the First-Class “Feat-of-Arms” Order to the Department of Surveillance.

On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang praised and warmly congratulated generations of officers and personnel of the Department on their achievements over the past 65 years. He expressed special recognition for their persistent, brave and unsung sacrifices that could not be publicly disclosed.

The Minister emphasized that within the country's new development era, the Department should maintain a unified consensus, strive continuously, and further solidify the irreplaceable role and special significance of surveillance measures in safeguarding national security.

Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Department to thoroughly grasp and effectively execute the principle of "proactive security" across all operational fronts. It should focus on building an intensely modern, truly regular and elite surveillance force that serves as the "Commanding Flagship" driving the growth of the entire Public Security Surveillance force.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed firm confidence that, with its 65-year heroic tradition, the Department of Surveillance will remain united, proactively innovate, overcome all challenges, and successfully fulfill all assigned missions, truly serving as a sharp, highly specialized and trusted force of the Party, State, the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization, Ministry of Public Security, and the People.
