Quang Ninh City Police Department’s establishment decision announced

Politburo Member, Secretary of the Public Security CPV Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the event

The ceremony took place at a historic juncture, coming ahead of the official effective date of September 1, 2026, for the National Assembly’s Resolution establishing Quang Ninh as a centrally-governed city. The Resolution was passed on August 24, 2026, with unanimous approval from all 478 deputies present.

Following the formal announcement, Minister Luong Tam Quang presented official decisions regarding organizational structure and key personnel for the new Quang Ninh City Police Department.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang commended the legacy of the former Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department under the leadership of the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization and the Provincial Party Committee.

According to the Minister of Public Security, the local police have been recognized by the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security and the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organization as  the force that plays a pivotal role in preserving national security and social order. It has helped drive Quang Ninh’s position as one of Vietnam's top-performing regional economies.

He emphasized that the city’s elevated status brings both great pride and heavier responsibility for the local police, requiring the new police entity to adapt swiftly to complex modern security challenges.

With the local police’s tradition of solidarity, dynamism and creativity and embracing their new role and position, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that the local police leadership as well as all police officers and personnel would remain united, make every effort to achieve further victories and accomplishments, and excellently fulfill all tasks entrusted to them by the Party, State and People.
