People’s Security University seeks to strengthen cooperation with New South Wales Police Force

Rector of the People’s Security University under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam Major General Tran Van Tuan had a meeting with Deputy Commissioner of the New South Wales (NSW) Police Force of Australia David Hudson on June 12, 2026.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the two sides’ cooperation needs and potential in training and capacity-building for their law enforcement personnel.

In the context of increasingly deep international integration, the People’s Security University proposed that the NSW Police Force support the university in developing an English glossary on aviation security for its training, research and professional exchanges.

The university also expressed its desire to strengthen connections with Australian educational institutions and law enforcement agencies, particularly the Australian Federal Police Academy and the NSW Police Force.

The two sides discussed the possibility of inviting experienced Australian experts, senior officials and lecturers in the fields of counterterrorism, cybersecurity and aviation security to deliver lectures and participate in academic exchanges at the People’s Security University.

In addition, the two sides explored opportunities to facilitate the participation of the university’s officers and lecturers in professional training and capacity-building programs in Australia, as well as the possibility of launching student exchange programs between the People’s Security University and educational institutions affiliated with the NSW Police Force in the future.

For his part, NSW Police Deputy Commissioner David Hudson highly appreciated the achievements of the People’s Security University in education and training, while affirming his commitment to promoting practical cooperation activities between the two sides in line with their respective needs and conditions.

The successful conclusion of the meeting helped open up promising prospects for future cooperation between the People’s Security University and the New South Wales Police Force of Australia.
