French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet and representatives from various functional units under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) also attended the meeting.
On the basis of the Vietnam–France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the MPS and Safran Group explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in the fields that are Safran’s strong expertise and aligned with the MPS’s practical operational requirements.
Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc noted that bilateral relations have flourished in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, science and technology since the two nations upgraded their ties. He highlighted that the upcoming visit to France by General Secretary and President To Lam in September is expected to further deepen political trust and advance substantive cooperation, particularly in high tech and aerospace.
Emphasizing that the MPS highly values its partnership with Safran, Deputy Minister Duc proposed prioritizing joint efforts in human resource training and the research and development of tailored technologies. He noted that such cooperation will support the gradual growth of a self-reliant and modern security industry in Vietnam.
For his part, Mr. Alexandre Ziegler expressed appreciation to Senior Lieutenant General Duc for the reception and insightful discussion on future cooperation goals. He spoke highly of the MPS's strategic vision and requirements for developing its security industry.
Concluding the meeting, both sides agreed that the priorities outlined by Deputy Minister Duc will serve as the framework for further expert-level consultations between MPS units and Safran divisions. The two parties plan to consider organizing a joint workshop to better align the specific technical needs of MPS units with Safran’s leading products, laying the groundwork to advise their respective leadership on practical and effective collaboration in the near future.
