Bac Ninh police return lost property to foreign tourist

The Tien Phong Ward Police Station and the Immigration Division under the Bac Ninh Provincial Police Department handed over lost property to its rightful owner, a foreign tourist, on October 14, 2025.

Earlier, on October 6, Ms. Giap Thi Xay, a resident in the Yen Khe residential area, Tien Phong Ward, found leather bag near the canal road in Yen Khe, containing a mobile phone, a camera, a bank card and two pairs of sunglasses, inside. 

She immediately brought the bag to the Tien Phong Ward Police Station and reported the case to the police.

Upon receiving the report, the Tien Phong Ward Police Station, in coordination with the Immigration Division, quickly identified the property’s owner as Mr. Leydier Sebastián Michel Andre Paul, 49, a French national. 

Reportedly, Mr. Leydier had dropped his belongings while passing through the canal road in Yen Khe, Tien Phong Ward, Bac Ninh province, on his way to Lang Son from Hanoi.

Upon retaking his belongings, Mr. Leydier expressed his deep gratitude to the local police for their professionalism and high sense of responsibility as well as to Ms. Giap Thi Xay for her honesty and kindness.
