MPS reviews fire and rescue work in Q3

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen chaired a meeting to review fire prevention, firefighting and rescue work in the third quarter and the first nine months of 2025 on the morning of October 9, in Hanoi.

Over the past nine months, the Fire and Rescue Police Force has closely followed directions from the leadership of the Party and the State on fire prevention and rescue, effectively performed its function of advising higher-level authorities on fire and rescue, taken comprehensive measures to prevent fire, and effectively deployed firefighting and rescue operations.

After listening to the summary report on remarkable results achieved by the Fire and Rescue Police Force in the third quarter and the first nine months of 2025, delegates discussed various relevant matters and proposed practical approaches to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of fire prevention, firefighting and rescue.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested police units and agencies to strictly comply with and thoroughly implement the Law on Fire Prevention, Firefighting and Rescue, as well as related decrees and circulars issued by the Ministry of Public Security.

He also emphasized the importance of developing the Fire Prevention and Rescue Database Project and the Fire Alarm Transmission Project within the Public Security Forces, while effectively implementing Project No. 08/DA-BCA-C07 on reducing the number of serious fire incidents that cause serious human and property losses.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen urged provincial-level police departments to continue advising provincial People’s Committees to strengthen coordination among units and agencies in conducting regular and unexpected inspections of fire safety and firefighting systems. He underscored that all new construction projects must meet the fire prevention and firefighting standards, and their fire safety and firefighting systems must be carefully inspected and appraised by competent authorities before being put into operation.

Finally, the Deputy Minister requested to provide more training and capacity-building courses for fire and rescue officers, actively mobilize resources for investment in fireinfrastructure and equipment and improve working conditions for the Fire and Rescue Police Force, ensuring that they are always ready to perform their duties effectively, safely and promptly in all situations.
