
06 Vietnamese police peacekeepers deployed to UNMISS peacekeeping mission
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony, on March 13 in Hanoi, to announce the President’s decision to deploy police officers to the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in 2026.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Pham The Tung chaired the ceremony.
At the event, leaders of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced the President’s decision to deploy six officers of the Public Security Forces to the UNMISS peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
Under the authorization of the President, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung presented the deployment decision to the six officers of Working Group No. 8 who will undertake duties at the mission.
The six officers include Colonel Nguyen Duy Tung; Colonel Luong Thi Tuyet Nhung; Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thi Kim Anh; Major Phung Hai Anh; Captain Bui Quoc Binh and Senior Lieutenant Hoang Anh Nguyet.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung emphasized that the deployment demonstrates the strong commitment of the Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Public Security to supporting international peacekeeping efforts, contributing to preventing conflict and maintaining global stability and sustainable security.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS leadership, the Deputy Minister requested that the officers regard the mission as both an honor and a responsibility of Vietnamese public security officers who represent the country and its people internationally.
The officers were urged to maintain strong political steadfastness, decent conduct, solidarity and responsibility, while fully utilizing their professional knowledge, experience and skills acquired during training to quickly adapt to the operational environment at the mission and successfully fulfill the tasks assigned by the United Nations.
The Deputy Minister also encouraged them to closely coordinate and cooperate with officers of the Vietnam People’s Army working at the mission in order to overcome challenges and accomplish their duties.
On behalf of Working Group No. 8, Captain Bui Quoc Binh promised that the officers will uphold the spirit, discipline and responsibility of the Vietnamese public security officers in a multinational working environment, thereby further enhancing the image of Vietnam as a peace-loving and responsible member of the international community.
