Vietnam, Belarus enhance cooperation in forensic science

Chairman of the State Forensic Examination Committee of the Republic of Belarus Major General of Justice Volkov Alexei Alexandrovich led a delegation to visit the Institute of Forensic Science under the Ministry of Public Security on the afternoon of April 1 in Hanoi.

At the working session, Director of the Institute of Forensic Science Major General Nguyen Tien Nam revealed that, in recent years, the two sides have continuously strengthened cooperation in forensic examination, contributing to improving the professional capacity of officers of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, enhancing mutual understanding and trust and laying a solid foundation for further cooperation.

He highlighted that the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Institute of Forensic Science of Vietnam and the Belsudekspertobespechenie Forensic Institute under the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus has made a concrete step forward, reflecting the in-depth development of bilateral cooperation.

The agreement aims to leverage each side’s strengths in exchanging experience, sharing information, procedures and technologies, as well as in cooperating in the production of equipment, instruments and chemical materials for forensic work.

In the coming period, both sides agreed to continue effectively implementing the cooperation agreement on forensic examination between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Forensic Examination Committee of Belarus, while Belarus was expected to provide more support for Vietnam in technology transfer and training and capacity-building of the Vietnamese forensic force.

For his part, Chairman Volkov Alexei Alexandrovich expressed his hope that cooperation between the Belarusian Committee and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will continue to develop in a more substantive and in-depth manner, bringing about practical outcomes and contributing to ensuring national security and social order and safety in both countries.
