
Vietnam, Belarus continue to strengthen security cooperation
The first Deputy Ministerial–level Consultation Session of the Joint Working Group between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus took place on the afternoon of December 2, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Neverovsky Aleksandr Viktorovich co-chaired the consultation session.
Speaking at the session, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that 2025 is a specially significant year for both Vietnam and Belarus, as it has seen the first official visit to Belarus by General Secretary To Lam in his capacity as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which has marked an important milestone with the upgrading of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership, opening new and broader avenues for bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of security and law enforcement.
During the visit, the host added, the top leaders of the two countries had agreed that security and defence cooperation, based on mutual trust and understanding, is a traditional area and one of the pillars in the Vietnam–Belarus Strategic Partnership.
Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam is committed to working closely with the State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus and Belarusian law enforcement agencies to advance bilateral cooperation in an increasingly substantive and effective manner.
He underscored that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam considers the consultation mechanism to be of strategic importance, serving as a channel for the competent agencies to give timely recommendations to Party and State leaders on essential security issues, as well as an important communication platform alongside official diplomatic channels, contributing to elevating bilateral relations to a higher level.
During the consultation session, the two sides exchanged views on global and regional security developments and heard several presentations related to national security, information security, cybersecurity and the prevention and combat of high-tech crime.
