Viet Nam, RoK strengthen security guard cooperation

At the talks, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen expressed his delight that the visit provided a great opportunity for both sides to discuss key directions for cooperation, thereby making positive contributions to strengthening the Viet Nam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen highly valued the close and timely coordination between the two agencies in ensuring absolute safety and security for visits by senior leaders of both countries. Notably, the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding on guard service cooperation in April 2026 has established a solid foundation and injected fresh momentum into deepening substantive, wide-ranging cooperation between the two sides.

To realize future commitments, both sides agreed to efficiently maintain information-sharing channels to safeguard key Vietnamese and South Korean leaders. They also agreed to step up delegation exchanges at all levels to share expertise, exchange best practices, and chart future directions for cooperation between the two guard forces.

Furthermore, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen expressed his hope that the PSS would continue to assist in providing specialized training and skill development for Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security personnel, while exploring technology transfer and offering advisory support to modernize equipment for Viet Nam’s functional forces.

On the South Korean side, Mr. Park Kwan Chon expressed high agreement with the proposals put forward by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security. He affirmed that the PSS will work closely with the Ministry to guarantee the security and safety of both nations' senior leaders, contributing to consolidating and fulfilling the goals of the Viet Nam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
