
Strengthening cooperation with UK partners in developing security industry
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, leading a high-level delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, visited to attend the UK Home Office-hosted 2026 Security & Policing Event, from March 9 to 13 at the invitation of the leadership of the UK Home Office.

During the working trip, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also had working sessions with UK partners to discuss approaches to strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the UK relevant agencies.
* On March 10, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen had talks with Minister of State at the UK Home Office Sarah Jones.
At the meeting, both sides agreed that, since Vietnam and the UK upgraded their relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit of General Secretary To Lam in October 2025, bilateral relations have developed strongly across all fields, with cooperation in security and law enforcement as an important pillar.
The two sides agreed that criminals are increasingly exploiting scientific and technological advances to commit transnational crimes in a more sophisticated and complex manner. In that circumstance, developing the security industry and modernizing law enforcement forces has become an urgent requirement of security and police forces of all countries so that they can effectively prevent and control crime. maintain social order and safety and safeguard national security.
To further strengthen cooperation between the two ministries, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen and Minister Sarah Jones agreed to increase exchanges of delegations at all levels, particularly at the high-level and expert-level, in order to enhance mutual understanding and promote information sharing on transnational crimes, especially human trafficking, illegal migration, cybercrime and high-tech crime.
Minister Sarah Jones affirmed that the UK Home Office is ready to create favorable conditions for leading British enterprises and experts in the field of security industry to support Vietnam through technical training and the transfer of advanced technologies.
* On the same day, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also held separate working sessions with Director General for Infrastructure and Technology at the UK Department for Business and Trade Rodney Berkeley and Director of Protect and Prepare, Homeland Security Group at the UK Home Office Shaun Hipgrave.
At the meetings, both sides agreed that there remains significant potential for cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant UK agencies in the development of the security industry.
The UK side expressed its willingness to support Vietnam in developing a modern, self-reliant and dual-use security industry capable of effectively serving the mission of ensuring security and social order.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also met with leaders of several major UK companies specializing in security technology and saw demonstrations of advanced technologies used in law enforcement operations, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), counter-drone technologies, security screening systems, mobile command centers, protective equipment and law enforcement support tools.
* Within the framework of the working visit, the delegation also made field trips to Norwich Prison to study the management and operational models of open and smart prisons and exchange experiences in prison management.
The delegation also visited the London Fire Brigade Soho Fire Station to learn about the application of science and technology to fire prevention and firefighting in the UK.
* On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen also visited the Embassy of Vietnam in the UK.
