
Quang Ninh police help foreign tourist recover lost passport
The Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department recently assisted an Australian tourist in recovering a passport lost during his stay in the province.

Mr. Richardson Andrew James (Australian national, born in 1957) entered Viet Nam on November 19, 2025, for a trip to Quang Ninh. During his stay, he unfortunately misplaced his passport.
On the morning of November 24, Mr. Richardson reported the incident to the Bai Chay Ward Police Station. Local police officers guided him through the reporting procedures, and reassured him while officers were searching for his lost item.
Meanwhile, the Bai Chay Ward Police Station, in coordination with the Immigration Management Division, promptly carried out professional measures to check the locations the tourist had visited.
Thanks to their tireless efforts, after two days of searching, on the afternoon of November 26, the police forces successfully found the passport and returned it to Mr. Richardson.
What is more, the local police guided Mr. Richardson to go on his trip in Viet Nam safely and smoothly.
Deeply moved by the dedication and professionalism of the local police forces, he wrote a letter to the leadership of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department, thanking the Immigration Management Division and the Bai Chay Ward Police Station for their timely assistance.
