Quang Ngai police join effort to ensure security and safety of hydropower projects

The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Deputy Director of the Quang Ngai Provincial Police Department Vo Van Duong, Director of Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Company Nguyen Thanh Hai and Director of Dakdrinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company Do Xuan Binh.

The hydropower facilities operated by the two companies are key projects that play an important role in ensuring national energy security and promoting socio-economic development in Quang Ngai province, as well as in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Given their projects spreading across a wide and complex terrain area, they face various potential security and safety risks, such as illegal intrusion, sabotage, theft, technical incidents and negative impacts from natural disasters and climate change.

The coordination regulation aims to strengthen their information exchange on security and safety situations and coordinate with each other in detecting and handling violations of law.

Under the deal, the police will also assist the companies in developing and implementing security and safety plans, as well as join them to carry out patrols and inspections to ensure the safety and security of reservoirs, dams, plants and related systems.

The signing of the regulation is expected to ensure security and safety of the critical energy infrastructure, thereby contributing to socio-economic development and maintaining security and order in Quang Ngai province.
