
Public Security Central Party Committee convenes first-quarter meeting
The Public Security Central Party Committee convened its first-quarter meeting, on the morning of March 31 in Hanoi, to discuss issues under its authority.

Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered keynote speeches at the meeting.
The meeting also saw the presence of Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, Head of the Central Commission for Organisation Le Minh Hung; Head of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs Le Minh Tri, Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Sy Thanh, Head of the Central Commission for Policy and Strategy Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office Pham Gia Tuc, Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung as well as Deputy Ministers of Public Security and other members of the Public Security Central Party Committee.
Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.
In his opening remarks, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that, in the first quarter of 2026, the region and the world experienced rapid and complex security developments with various emerging issues directly affecting Vietnam’s national security and interests.
In that context, the meeting aimed to review and assess the leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee over the Public Security Forces’ implementation of the key tasks in the first quarter, and to set out major tasks and solutions for the second quarter.
The Chairman stressed that the meeting also sought to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the directions of the General Secretary requiring that the Public Security Forces should take the lead in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and its Action Program and effectively carry out the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Public Security Central Party Organization.
Delegates were also expected to discuss approaches to turn challenges into opportunities, and firmly safeguard national security and interests in all situations.
Accordingly, delegates reviewed the situation and provided opinions on several key documents, including reports on the Public Security Central Party Committee’s leadership in the first quarter and its work program for the coming period. They also evaluated the work results of the Public Security Forces in the first quarter and set out key tasks for forces in the second quarter of 2026.
After that, delegates listened to the report on the specific outcomes of the Standing Board’s leadership from the previous meeting.
Finally, members of the Public Security Central Party Committee briefed delegates on the outcomes of all aspects of work of the Public Security Forces in the first quarter.
