
MPS holds first-quarter press conference
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a press conference on the afternoon of April 4 in Hanoi to announce the results of public security work in the first quarter of 2026 and outline key tasks of the Public Security Forces for the coming period.

Chief of the MPS Office and MPS Spokesman Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan chaired the press conference.
Speaking at the event, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan noted that earlier the same day, the MPS had convened a meeting to review public security work in the first quarter of 2026.
At that meeting, delegates agreed on the evaluation that, despite numerous challenges and pressure, the Public Security Forces had successfully fulfilled a large volume of work in accordance with the adopted programs and plans, effectively serving the country’s economic, cultural, social and external affairs development and receiving recognition and commendation from leaders of the Party and the State.
At the press conference, the MPS spokesman also provided updates on the outcomes of the recent campaign on attacking and suppressing crime as well as on the Public Security Forces’ implementation of its function of drafting and improving legal normative documents related to security and order.
Representatives of public security units and agencies further briefed the press on several cases and incidents of public concern currently under investigation.
Concluding the event, Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan affirmed that the MPS will continue to proactively provide timely and transparent information to the press, and strengthen coordination with the press in legal communication to ensure that security and order-related policies are properly understood, effectively implemented and translated into practice, serving the interests of the people, businesses and organizations.
