MPS builds homes for disaster-affected people in Dak Lak

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS), in coordination with the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, held a groundbreaking ceremony for houses in support of the households who had lost their homes due to Typhoon No. 13 and subsequent flooding, on the afternoon of November 26, in Xuan Lanh commune, Dak Lak province.

At the ceremony, under the authority of the Minister of Public Security, Deputy Chief of the MPS Office Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen presented funding for the reconstruction of houses for residents in areas severely affected by Typhoon No. 13 and flooding.

He also presented 80 tonnes of rice and other essential supplies to local people to support their post-disaster recovery efforts.

Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen stressed that this meaningful support from the Public Security Forces is a testament to the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance, helping people overcome hardship caused by storms and floods.

These efforts, he said, contribute to strengthening the people’s security posture and promoting the “All People Protecting National Security” movement among the population.

In this phase, 16 new houses for affected households will be built with each valued at 110 million VND. Of this sum, the MPS provides 50 million VND, while the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee grants 60 million VND to each victim.

Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen also presented gifts from the Minister of Public Security to the local armed forces, Party committees and grassroots authorities in recognition of their outstanding efforts to assist local people in overcoming the consequences of recent natural disasters in Dak Lak.
