
Minister Luong Tam Quang receives newly-accredited Indonesian Ambassador
Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with newly-accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Vietnam Adam Mulawarman Tugio, on the afternoon of March 12 in Hanoi.

Congratulating Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio on his appointment, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his confidence that the Ambassador would achieve success in his ambassadorship tenure and actively contribute to further promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia in a more substantive and effective manner.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed Vietnam–Indonesia relations in recent times, highlighting positive developments in various fields of cooperation, including politics, defense and security on the basis of increasingly strengthened political trust.
In addition, the two sides attached importance to cooperation in trade, investment, education and training, agriculture, fishery, tourism, culture, sports, local connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.
The two officials also spoke highly of the good cooperation results between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Indonesian law enforcement agencies, particularly in implementing signed agreements, exchanging information on crime prevention and control, assisting each other in investigating and handling numerous criminal cases, as well as coordinating and supporting each other in ASEAN multilateral cooperation mechanisms on combating transnational crime.
Regarding orientations for bilateral cooperation in the coming time, the two sides agreed to further enhance information exchange on drug-related crimes and terrorism, coordinate in apprehending wanted fugitives, and promote cooperation in training and capacity building for forces participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
At the meeting, Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio also thanked Minister Luong Tam Quang for the reception as well as for his positive review of the bilateral relationship and the cooperation between the two countries’ law enforcement agencies.
The Ambassador affirmed that he would try his best to further promote the Indonesia–Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and strongly support cooperation between Indonesian law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in combating transnational crime, exchanging information and training personnel.
He also expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to expand and deepen their bilateral cooperation in the coming time, contributing to maintaining security and order in each country as well as promoting peace and stability in the region.
