Minister Luong Tam Quang attends groundbreaking ceremony for Security Command Center of Lao Ministry of Public Security

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his delight at attending the groundbreaking ceremony held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (December 2, 1975 – 2025) and the 63rd founding anniversary of Vietnam–Laos diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962 – 2025).

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that the Vietnam–Laos relationship, which has been tested and strengthened throughout the long history of national liberation, protection and development of the two countries, is an example of faithfulness and purity in international relations.

On this basis, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos have cooperated effectively, over the past time, in safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and safety in each country, as well as joined efforts to combat transnational crime, drug-related crime, human trafficking and high-tech crime.

In the face of the complex political, economic, security developments along with the rise of traditional and non-traditional security challenges in the world, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the two Ministries of Public Security should further strengthen close cooperation to firmly protect national security and maintain social order in their countries.

The guest affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will always stand shoulder to shoulder with and provide the utmost support to the Lao Ministry of Public Security in overcoming difficulties and challenges and fulfilling all tasks entrusted by the Lao Party, State and people.

As for ongoing aid projects provided by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to support the Lao Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his belief that once the Security Command Center, along with other projects in Laos funded by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, will greatly enhance the capabilities of the Lao Ministry of Public Security in safeguarding national security and maintaining social order for the peaceful and happy lives of the people when it is completed and put into operation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamphong expressed sincere gratitude to the Party, Government and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam for their supports.

He also expressed confidence that the Lao and Vietnamese project management units, as well as the construction contractor, would cooperate closely to finish the project as planned.

The host believed that the project will make an important contribution to the Lao Public Security Forces’ accomplishment of the tasks of safeguarding national security and ensuring social order in the new situation.
