Minister Luong Tam Quang attends 17th Congress of Hue City Party Organization

On behalf of the Politburo, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

In his remarks, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and acclaimed the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Hue City in the previous tenure.

The Minister emphasized that, as a result of the local  authorities’ and people’ relentless effort to comprehensively develop the locality over the past years, on January 1, 2025, Thua Thien Hue Province officially became a centrally-run city. The event, which has met realizing the long-cherished aspiration of the local Party Committee, government and people, the can be seen as a historic milestone in the local history open to a new development phase of the city in the coming years.

Agreeing with the perspectives, goals, targets and breakthrough programs outlined in the Political Report of the Congress, Minister Luong Tam Quang urged the Hue City Party Committee to focus on building the local Party organization and political system with renovated thinking, vision and knowledge.

He requested the city to effectively implement the Party Central Committee’s resolutions and instructions , and runs the two-tier local government model in an efficient and effective manner.

The Minister also underscored the need to improve people’s living standards, build a local government close to and for the sake of the people, properly carry out social security policies and sustainable poverty reduction programs while paying special attention to remote, mountainous and ethnic minority areas as well as policy beneficiary families in the city.

He further called on Hue City’s Party Committee, authorities and armed forces to strengthen national defense and security, firmly safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, expand external relations, and make extra effort to build drug-free and crime-free communes and wards, while maintaining order and security at the grassroots level, and effectively implementing ethnic and religious policies.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his belief that, with their strong aspirations for innovation, unity and determination, the Party organization, the Party Committee and people of Hue City will successfully implement the Resolution of the 17th Party Congress, making significant contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.
