Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang also attended the event.
Among these was a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation between 19-8 Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and Aalborg University Hospital of Denmark.
As the largest specialized medical center in Denmark’s North Denmark Region, Aalborg University Hospital (Aalborg Universitetshospital) works closely with Aalborg University (AAU) in medical education, research, and innovation in nearly 40 specialties.
The hospital holds internationally recognized leadership in oncology treatment, molecular diagnostics, artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data applications, cardiovascular and metabolic medicine, neurology, rehabilitation, and preventive medicine.
Meanwhile, with its 65-year tradition, 19-8 Hospital operates on a 1,000-bed scale across 39 wards, divisions, centers and institutes.
Beyond its core task of providing healthcare for People's Public Security officers, soldiers and the public, 19-8 Hospital carries the vital duty of protecting and caring for the health of senior officials under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat, as well as providing medical support for critical national security operations.
Immediately following the signing and exchange of the MoU, the two hospitals agreed to operationalize their partnership across four strategic focus pillars:
First, the two hospitals will strengthen scientific research collaboration through joint studies and research projects in key medical fields to address modern healthcare challenges.
Second, the two sides will accelerate technology transfer and specialized expertise, focusing on personalized medicine and molecular diagnostics (particularly for cancer screening and treatment). Joint efforts will also cover genomic sequencing, bioinformatics, multi-genomics biomedical data analysis, and the deployment of AI and Big Data in clinical decision support to optimize diagnostic and treatment quality.
Third, Aalborg University Hospital will support high-quality human resource development by hosting short-term and long-term training programs for doctors and medical specialists from 19-8 Hospital to acquire advanced medical techniques in Denmark.
Fourth, the two hospitals will foster international joint scientific publishing, with leading Danish experts accompanying and assisting 19-8 Hospital doctors in designing research that meets international standards, standardizing data, and publishing scientific works in prestigious global medical journals.
The signing of the MoU under the direct witness of General Secretary and State President To Lam and King Frederik X carries profound political, diplomatic, and social significance.
Beyond enhancing diagnostic and treatment capacity and advancing high-tech medical specialties for the People's Public Security Forces of Viet Nam, the agreement serves as a bridge of knowledge, technology, and solidarity between the peoples of the two nations.
Furthermore, this partnership demonstrates the strong commitment of the Ministry of Public Security of Viet Nam and its Danish partners to proactive international integration and the application of world-leading medical breakthroughs toward a noble goal: protecting and caring for the health of Public Security officers, soldiers, and the public, while serving the sustainable development of both nations in the new era.
