Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To visits three European countries

A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, led by Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, paid a working visit to Italy, Spain and France from October 20 to 28 to exchange experiences with local agencies in building, managing and operating modern museums, in support of the project to build the Public Security Museum.

In Italy, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To had working sessions with representatives of the Vatican Museums and the Carabinieri National Museum.

During the meeting at the Vatican Museums, the two sides highlighted the positive development of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Holy See, as well as productive cooperation in cultural exchange based on mutual respect, collaboration and understanding.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To shared that the Ministry of Public Security plans to develop the Public Security Museum as a modern, unique, creative, attractive and educational institution, reflecting the history and achievements of the Public Security Forces.

He proposed that the Vatican Museums continue to share their hands-on experience in museum construction, management and operation, as well as technologies for artifact conservation and exhibition, digital technology application in developing attractive exhibition programs, approaches to design exhibition spaces in couple with interactive learning.

In his meeting with Director of the Carabinieri National Museum Gaetano Vitucci, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To wished the Italian museum to share its expertise in artifact classification, preservation against environmental impact, the application of digital technology in museum conservation and exhibition arrangement, and lessons drawn from Italy’s long-standing museum traditions.

In Spain, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To had meetings with the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain and visited the Prado National Museum.

At the meeting with Spanish Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Maria Corrales Pons, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To proposed the Spanish side to share their policies on museum management and responsibility decentralization, standards for exhibition, conservation methods for artifacts and antiquities, as well as the adoption of new technologies in museum operations.

At the Prado Museum, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To and Deputy Director for International Relations Francisco Tardio discussed museum design models, public space organization, thematic exhibition systems and technical solutions for lighting, humidity and climate control.

In France, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To had working sessions with the Paris Police Museum and the Army Museum (Musée de l’Armée).
