At the talks, the two ministers agreed that Vietnam and Singapore have enjoyed a longstanding friendship and fruitful cooperation. They underscored that, since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2025, the bilateral cooperation has gained a new momentum and had greater potential for development, creating favorable conditions for deepening substantive and effective cooperation across all fields.

In recent years, cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore has become increasingly practical, effective and efficient. Notably, the two sides recently successfully co-organized the 13th Deputy Ministerial-Level Bilateral Meeting and the 8th Sports Exchange Program.

During the talks, the two ministers had in-depth discussion on the outcomes of cooperation in combating crime between the two ministries, and agreed on measures to further strengthen cooperation in the coming time.

Based on proposals made by Minister Luong Tam Quang, the two sides agreed to elevate cooperation between Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security to a higher level commensurate with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries by effectively implementing signed agreements.

They also agreed to increase exchanges of high-level and working-level delegations in order to expand cooperation in combating transnational crime, and especially in the application of advanced technologies in law enforcement operations.

Accordingly, the two sides will take advantage of the existing dialogue mechanisms and cooperation agreements to exchange views on regional security issues of mutual concern, enhance their capacity to respond effectively and promptly to emerging challenges, and strengthen cooperation in ensuring cybersecurity and safety in cyberspace in order to effectively prevent cyberattacks and unauthorized intrusions by hackers, as well as to combat cybercrime and online fraud.
