
MPS promotes high-tech cooperation with Italian partner
Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang received Director of Global Sales for Air Traffic Management Systems at Leonardo S.p.A. Daniele Tavano and other senior executives of the Italian group, on the afternoon of July 29, in Ha Noi.

Welcoming Mr. Daniele Tavano and his delegation, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the standing, experience and capability of Leonardo, one of the leading high-tech industrial groups in Italy and Europe.
With prominent strengths in defense, security, aerospace, helicopters, electronics, and digital technologies, Leonardo is currently participating in numerous large-scale programs in Italy, Europe and worldwide. The group also possesses extensive expertise in developing cybersecurity solutions, command and control systems, radar, sensors, border surveillance, and the protection of critical infrastructure and key facilities.
Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that Vietnam is actively advancing major national policies on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. At the same time, the country is perfecting its legal framework to create favorable conditions for the development of defense and security industries, step up international cooperation, and attract advanced foreign resources and technologies.
This serves as an important foundation for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to expand cooperation with world-leading technology enterprises, including Leonardo, particularly in joint research, technology transfer, high-quality human resource training and the development of modern solutions to safeguard national security, maintain social order and safety, and prevent and combat crime.
Welcoming the cooperation proposals presented by Mr. Daniele Tavano, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that Leonardo further enhance product introductions, technical exchanges, and experience sharing with relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security regarding its standout solutions and technologies.
The Minister also proposed that the two sides focus on exchanging expertise in the application of artificial intelligence, AI Vision technology, big data analytics, cloud computing, data center development, and digital platform building for management, command, and operational control.
Alongside technological cooperation, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that Leonardo pay close attention to coordinating joint research, training high-quality human resources, transferring technology, and implementing joint research programs tailored to the needs, conditions, and development orientations of both sides.
Affirming that the Ministry of Public Security stands ready to create favorable conditions for cooperation activities to be implemented substantively and effectively, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed confidence that relations between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Leonardo Group will continue to be consolidated and expanded, yielding concrete results in the coming period.
Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for taking the time to receive the delegation, Mr. Daniele Tavano expressed his impression of Vietnam’s development potential and affirmed that Leonardo Group will continue to study and implement key cooperative projects, contributing to fostering a strong relationship between the two nations.
