According to a report presented at the ceremony, the coordination program comprises seven sections and identifies ten key groups of tasks, establishing a unified and seamless coordination mechanism between the Ministry of Public Security and Petrovietnam as well as between their affiliated units.
The two sides will focus on researching, assessing and forecasting situations related to national security, economic security and energy security as well as ensuring the security and safety of major projects, facilities and critical energy infrastructures.
The two sides will also strengthen information exchange, identify risks arising from geopolitical developments and fluctuations in the global energy market, protect internal political security and State secrets, safeguard cybersecurity and data security, and proactively respond to non-traditional security threats.
The scope of coordination has also been expanded to emerging fields, such as nuclear power, offshore wind power, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, as well as the research, development and application of dual-use technologies, equipment, materials and products serving both national security protection and the development of the energy sector.
Addressing the ceremony, Chairman Le Ngoc Son stated that, as Petrovietnam enters a new stage of development, the Group remains committed to the principle that "security must be ensured at every stage of development." Accordingly, security requirements must be proactively integrated into every project, from planning and investment to governance and operation.
Chairman Le Ngoc Son proposed that the Ministry of Public Security provide guidance to Petrovietnam in formulating security plans for key projects from the investment preparation stage; support training and exercises to enhance the Group's capabilities in cybersecurity, industrial control system security, data and State secret protection, and the safeguarding of core technologies; and continue providing professional instructions on internal political security protection.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized that cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security and Petrovietnam in recent years has been carried out across a wide range of areas, making important contributions to safeguarding economic and energy security while supporting Viet Nam's growth and development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that the signing of the coordination program between the Ministry of Public Security and Petrovietnam is necessary and significant.
He noted that it will contribute to effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, proactively identifying, preventing and effectively addressing risks and challenges to national security and energy security in the new context, thereby laying a solid foundation for the country's rapid and sustainable development and contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and the Party's strategic policies.
