Earlier, Mr. Shimura Manabu had entered Vietnam through the Cau Treo International Border Gate.
Later, he arrived at the communal police station with worry as he had run out of money and been unable to cover his daily expenses, needing a temporary place to stay while waiting for financial support from his family in Japan.
Learning about his situation, officers of the Huong Son Communal Police Station warmly welcomed him and promptly provided him with money to buy food.
At the same time, the police proactively contacted a local guesthouse, asking the owner to provide temporary accommodation for the visitor while he waited for his family’s support.
The meaningful assistance left a deep impression on the Japanese visitor.
On March 5, Mr. Shimura Manabu returned to the communal police station to express his appreciation.
In a handwritten note in Vietnamese with some mistakes but full of heartfelt sentiment, he wrote: “Thank you for helping me. I will never forget your kindness.”
The compassionate gesture of the Huong Son communal police officers helped spread a positive image of grassroots-level police officers who stay close to the people, provide dedicated service to the community, and are always ready to assist anyone, including foreign expats, in difficulty.
The case is an example of the responsibility, friendliness and humanity of the Public Security Forces of Vietnam toward the Vietnamese people as well as international friends.
