Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen visits Turkish security industry group

The visit aimed to explore new cooperation opportunities in the field of security industry, in the context of increasingly complex security developments in the region and the world.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to expand for bilateral cooperation in research and application of artificial intelligence (AI) and the transfer of advanced material technologies, contributing to enhancing the two sides’ capabilities of safeguarding national security and combating crime. In doing so, the two sides agreed to strengthen information exchange and experience sharing in research and application of new materials for the security industry.

Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen proposed that Garanti Kompozit send experts to work with relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in 2026 to understand more about the country’s specific needs and capacity so that the two sides can boost cooperation in research, development and technology transfer regarding the production of special materials and specialized equipment suitable to the conditions of Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region.

On the same day, the delegation of the Ministry of Public Security also had a meeting with Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yildiz, during which the host and guest discussed approaches to promote cooperation in combating transnational crime and enhance local-level police coordination.

At the session, Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yildiz noted that, with its large population and high number of international visitors, Istanbul has a 55,000-personnel police force, which is equipped with modern technical means, including AI-based systems and unmanned aerial vehicles, and responsible for ensuring public order and security across all of its 39 districts.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen information exchange on crime trends, share experience in combating crimes involving the two countries, particularly drug-related crime, high-tech crime and international fraud, and promote regular exchanges of delegations, especially at the local police level.

These efforts aim to enhance mutual understanding and improve the effectiveness of crime prevention and control in the real context in each country.
