MPS leader pledges to ensure safe investment environment for European businesses in Vietnam

Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Chairman of the EU–ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) Jens Rubbert on the afternoon of November 27, in Hanoi.

Welcoming the EU-ABC and EuroCham delegation to Vietnam on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Vietnam–EU diplomatic relations (November 28, 1990–2025), Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that, after more than three decades, Vietnam–EU relations have developed in a comprehensive and substantive manner, on the basis of shared values, trust and long-term vision, becoming one of the important pillars in Vietnam’s foreign policy and economic development strategy.

Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that the meeting provided an important opportunity for both sides to discuss orientations and measures to ensure a safe and effective investment environment for the two sides’ businesses, as well as to establish cooperation mechanisms between the Ministry of Public Security and European enterprises.

On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the two sides strengthen information exchange to support the prevention of criminal activities and legal violations in general and economic, trade and investment-related offences in particular, especially the detection and handling of counterfeit and substandard goods in the Vietnamese market.

He also encouraged EU-ABC, EuroCham and European businesses operating in cybersecurity, high-tech production and technology industries to organize training courses and certification programs for cybersecurity experts of the Ministry of Public Security, while implementing investment and technology-transfer projects for the Vietnamese Public Security Forces.

The minister further suggested that EU-ABC organize technology-introduction forums for the National Cybersecurity Association and relevant Vietnamese competent agencies, while studying mechanisms for information exchange between Vietnamese authorities and European cybersecurity companies on emerging threats and common forms of cyberattacks.

Expressing sincere thanks to Minister Luong Tam Quang for the warm reception, EU-ABC Chairman Jens Rubbert affirmed that the European business community considers Vietnam a key destination in its development strategy in the ASEAN region and wishes to continue accompanying Vietnam in the coming time.

Chairman Jens Rubbert proposed that the two sides continue to maintain regular channels of communication and dialogue at both leadership and technical levels, promptly share information, address issues and promote cooperation, investment and trade opportunities between the business communities of both sides, contributing to a more substantive, effective and sustainable Vietnam–EU partnership.
