NA Committee on Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs inspects security protection for 16th National Assembly election in Khanh Hoa

A delegation of the National Assembly’s Committee on Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs held a working session with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department on the morning of January 9, 2026, to inspect the security and order protection work in the province for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.

The delegation was led by Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi.

At the working session, a representative of the Internal Political Security Division of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department presented a report on the local security situation and the results of implementing measures to protect the upcoming elections.

According to the report, the provincial police proactively set out nine major tasks to ensure security and order, while police units across the province maintained a high level of readiness and mobilized maximum personnel and resources to firmly safeguard stability and order for the elections.

Addressing the session, Senior Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi praised the local police for their proactive spirit, thorough preparations and good plans to ensure order, security and safety for the elections.

He requested the provincial police to proactively advise Party committees and authorities at all levels on approaches to ensure order and security across the province, firmly protect internal political security, and further strengthen coordination with relevant agencies and forces, so as to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks, contributing to the overall success of the elections.
